MAKASSAR NEW PORT CONSTRUCTION

The Makassar New Port is a National Strategic Project (PSN) as stated in Republic of Indonesia Presidential Regulation (Perpres RI) No. 109 of 2020 to support the Sea Highway program to increase Indonesia’s economic growth. The Makassar New Port was also built to support the existing Makassar Port, which will soon reach its maximum capacity limit.

The Makassar New Port Phase IB and Phase IC construction costs in 2021 were Rp924.98 billion, or 110.37% of the 2021 RKAP target of Rp838.10 billion. The physical progress in the Makassar New Port Development Phase IB and Phase IC in 2021 reached 84.67% (eighty four point six seven percent). The remaining work in progress includes:

  1. Implementation of Wharf Works;
  2. Implementation of Paving Foundation Work;
  3. Implementation of Sand Rehandling Work in front of the Wharf; and
  4. Harbor Pond Dredging.
