In 2021, the Company conducted an internal analysis to identify achievable business opportunities given the advantages it has. PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) has many internal strengths that can be used as the basis for developing the port business in Indonesia, such as a diversified portfolio, control of the container market in Indonesia, and being strategically located to serve as a transshipment hub. However, to carry out strategic planning and achieve PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) targets for 2021-2025, the Company cannot simply rely on its internal strengths but must also calculate the external factors that pose a threat as well as an opportunity that can be optimized for the Company’s sustainability, so it was necessary to conduct a Business Environment Analysis using a Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats (SWOT) framework. The SWOT analysis formed an integral part of the strategic planning process in capturing potential and mapping existing obstacles. The analysis included the Company’s internal factors to produce its strengths and weaknesses, while an external analysis produced the opportunities and threats.
